Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you have heard about the beating of Bryan Stow.

Bryan, a Paramedic with AMR, a father of two young kids, and an overall good guy who wouldn’t harm a fly just wanted to see the opening game of his favorite baseball team, and because he wore a Giants shirt, he was almost killed in the most cowardly way possible; A sucker punch to the back of the head, and after was kicked and beaten as he lay on the ground.

His life was forever changed on that fateful day. The 2 guys who did this, both already convicted felons, were caught and charged. It’s unfortunute these two were not charged with attempted murder, but instead Louie Sanchez plead guilty to felony mayhem, recieved  8 years and Marvin Norwood four years for felony assault. Norwood also faces Federal Firearm Charges.

In fact Norwood, known for his temper alleged wife beater, walked out of L.A. County Jail on Friday, but was quickly arrested by the Feds. He faces 10 years in Federal Prison. Sanchez, also a convicted felon, will serve time in State Prison.

Sanchez and Norwood, natives of Rialto, Ca both have kids around the ages of Bryan’s 2 kids who still struggle to understand why their dad will never be the same dad they both knew.

Bryan’s medical costs are mounting, and with his insurance limiting his therapies, they also thought he no longer needed a 24-hour care facility. His family has become his primary caregivers. He now lives with his parents in Capitola.

The San Francisco Giants have been so great to this family, visiting Bryan in the hospital, rehab facilities, and at his parents home, organized fundraisers, and his son Tyler threw out the opening pitch at a home game in 2012. Proceeds of ticket sales that day went to a fund for his mounting medical costs. Bryan also attended a World Series game against The Detroit Lions, which according to his family, he loved.

A recent update on Support4BryanStow.com
We recently shaved  Bryan’s head and it was shocking to see the damage to his skull. Seeing him stare at himself in the mirror was heartbreaking. Watching him touch the shunt that protrudes on the right side of his skull, the slightly sunken in left side and all the deep scars was heartbreaking. We tried to make light of it and told him that no one else would still be that good looking. Of course he agreed! We have mentioned it a million times, but his sense of humor is what keeps us all going.”

His medical costs are estimated to be 50 Million dollars in his lifetime. The family does have a pending lawsuit against The Dodgers and ex-owner, but still need any help they can get. Make any donation, and help this family continue to care for Bryan, and his kids. Here’s Ways To Donate

Conspiracy Theories and Catherine Fitzpatrick #Catfitz #libertylynx #CraigPirrong #EdwardSnowden

I received a long ranting, weird to say the least, comment about Catherine Fitzpatrick. I haven’t really read any of Catherine’s blog posts or any of her Russia conspiracy theories as of late. Frankly reading Catherine’s rants just give me a headache. Apparently, Catherine is part of some big argument over Edward Snowden. I’m posting this comment mainly because making heads or tails of this latest beef is just strange and confusing.  It’s long and in the middle of it I got a big migraine.

Ryan Scott Warner’s Prior Threats #KayleighSlusher

Image

KTVU did a report last night on prior threat’s made by Warner to a previous girlfriend in a different county.

According to a 2008 request for a restraining order against Warner, a woman who was pregnant with his child said Warner wanted her to get an abortion and repeatedly threatened her.

In a two page, hand written letter to the court, the pregnant woman wrote that Warner said to her:

“I hope the kid dies or is born retarded.”

“If I find out you’re cheating on me, I’ll bust your teeth out with a pipe.”

“I’ve been on the run many times.”

Is Paul Byrne, M.D. Treating #JahiMcmath?

pic via CNN

pic via CNN

Paul Byrne, a Neonatologist NOT a Neurologist has written another “article of his opinion” on the Jahi McMath case. Is he the Dr. treating her or is his opinion not based on examining Jahi? He talks about the part of our brain that regulates temperature/hormones called the hypothalamus. He says Jahi’s hypothalamus regained function and therefore she cannot be dead.

This is deeply significant, because the human body relies upon the hypothalamus portion of the brain to conduct the temperature-regulating function. More to the point, Jahi’s brain was still functioning to a notable degree, at least during part of the material time of the famous/infamous “brain death” declaration. And her brain would continue to function for at least as long as she is still able to self-regulate her own body temperature. To wit, Jahi’s brain, then, obviously did not fulfill “irreversible cessation of all functions of the entire brain,” the wording of the Uniform Determination of Death Act (UDDA).

How exactly would he think this part of Jahi’s brain is functioning? Has he actually examined her? Is he the doctor who inserted her trech and g-tube? He is not a neurologist nor does he know anything about the brain function of a child. Unless he physically examined her, he would not know anything about Jahi’s current condition. His “opinion” would be invalid.

The Family of #JahiMcMath expecting a Miracle?

We know Jahi Mcmath’s family believes she’ll suddenly wake up and God will heal her, but are they expecting a resurrection? I came across a tweet from Jahi’s uncle which made me wonder- They have to accept she’s dead if they expect a resurrection.

Romans 8:11 talks about the resurrection of Christ. I’m just sayin.

Meanwhile Chris Dolan, lawyer continues to be an attention whore-

@Prinniedidit —Why Steubenville Matters

Image

pic via RadioNewz

First of all, I would like to point out a misconception about Steubenville as a whole.  There ARE good, decent, hard-working people who live in Steubenville, Ohio who are unfortunately being labeled because of the abhorrent behavior by a handful of miscreants who continue to victim blame and shame Jane Doe on a regular basis.  These good people are also afraid to speak openly about this behavior for fear of retaliation against them or their families, and with good reason.  I have been the target of harassment for over a year by these people.  I can’t say that I blame anyone local for not wanting to speak out against them because they have to live there among these people.  I have also been the subject of a lawsuit filed against my anonymous commenters and myself for speaking out about this case. (copy of lawsuit here)

I have said little publicly about this case for a long time.  I have ignored the insults and hate speech for longer than anyone else would have.  The families of those involved have threatened to sue me for what amounts to nothing more than internet butt hurt for the past year now.  I have been accused of being everyone on the internet that speaks out against them and they have harassed, targeted, intimidated and shit talked my family, innocent friends and myself for over a year.   Their hatred of me has become a very sick, unhealthy obsession. I am reminded of the question I asked myself on August 22, 2012 when I first read about this case:  Why would these kids act this way? The answer is very clear:  Look at the examples they have in their lives.  They have adult role models in their lives who bully, harass and intimidate others for speaking out, so why wouldn’t these kids opt instead to do nothing but shame, blame and bully Jane Doe on social media?

I am not a US citizen.  I am a German immigrant who proudly lives in this country and loves everything about America.  I have been a staunch defender of the right to free speech and vehemently fought for the rights of my anonymous commenters to remain anonymous when we were sued by the family of Cody Saltsman with regard to the Steubenville rape case.  I could have had the attitude every man for himself when I was sued, but I didn’t.  I rallied behind my John Doe defendants and ultimately was able to enlist the assistance of the ACLU to represent them so that anonymous speech was protected; and more importantly that their identities were protected.  Even as an immigrant, I am entitled to “unalienable rights” as afforded by the Constitution:  the protection of “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”.  Over the past year, I have been a target of hate speech; I have been hunted like an animal by individuals wishing to expose where I live, where I work or who I may have relationships with.  Why?  Because I wrote about a rape case involving their not so compassionate children.  I have purposely not disclosed where I live because these people are unhinged, and people with stalker obsessions are capable of doing bad things.  So, yes…I am in hiding.  NO ONE should have to live like this.  They are so hell bent on destroying me as a person that they have and continue to inhibit my right to earn a living and the right of those who may work for me to earn their living.  Because of their behavior and absolute intent on destroying or causing me physical harm, I am not even in a position to file a police report…because that would disclose my location and potentially put me in danger.

Message To Melinda Coleman #opmaryville

image

It’s been several months since we learned about what happened to Daisy. Unfortunately, her story was familiar to us. It’s familiar to many women and young girls. Sometimes it feels like there’s no where safe.

To Melinda: we’re so sorry for what your daughter went through. There are no words. It should be clear to the world that this is more than any parent should have to suffer. This is unacceptable.

The people who took to your daughter’s case and did what they could to shed light on the injustices you were going through are devastated right now. And at the same time, furious.

Please know that, without question, if we could somehow produce the video you’re looking for, if it was possible, it would have been done. If we could lock those pieces of shit away for what they’ve taken from you and throw away the key, we would. If we could transfer the pain you’re feeling now over to those cunts that terrorized your daughter, knowing what she’d been through, they would feel it.

Right now all we can do is stand with you and demand that the police, prosecutors and all the other people, the one who have repeatedly failed to protect your family, for once in their lives, do their fucking jobs. And if the officials in your city can’t manage to arrest and prosucute the trash that attacked your daughter, they should all go out into the cold, take their clothes off, lay down in the snow and stay there. They are useless, they are scum and worse, they’re taking up valuable space. They’re taking up space where someone else should be, someone who is willing to protect our children, instead of ignore them when they’re being attacked.

We’re sorry that you have been robbed.

We hope that anyone, everyone, who has ever taken part in an op like this will step up now and fight for Daisy, because it’s clear that the assholes who signed up for that job are getting paid for doing nothing.

The Complicated Struggle To Understand “Brain Death” #JahiMcMath

Image

Pic via The Daily Mail

The very recent and emotional case of Jahi McMath has gotten international news. A 13-year-old 8th grader goes into Children’s Hospital in Oakland, California to have surgery on her tonsils and surrounding tissue to help with her sleep apnea. The surgery goes well and she wakes up in the ICU. (I’ll get to that in a few) Suddenly she starts to bleed out of her nose and mouth and passes out before the nurses call the Dr. (According to the family. The hospital can’t comment on that stuff because of Federal HIPAA laws) They do a CT scan and determine she has brain swelling and ultimately her brain is no longer functioning.

Newsweek- “Why Is No One Talking About the Second Steubenville Rape Case?”

Image

Yesterday’s charges are connected to the rape of a 14-year-old girl, too. Pittsburgh Post Gazzette/Zum Press/Alamy

By  / November 27 2013 10:22 AM

Steubenville, Ohio is now officially ready to move on from last year’s infamous teen rape case, in which a 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by two high school football players. Or at least that’s the message from Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine, even though half the school officials indicted this week are charged with failing to reportanother alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl.

After Steubenville High School football players Ma’Lik Richmond and Trent Mays were convicted in March of raping a 16-year-old West Virginia girl after a drunken party in August 2012, DeWine assembled a grand jury to review whether additional crimes were committed. It met 18 times and heard from 123 witnesses. This week, the jury indicted four school officials, including Steubenville City Schools superintendent Mike McVey, who was charged with multiple felonies for obstructing justice.

A volunteer football coach was also indicted, on several misdemeanor charges, including providing alcohol to minors, along with a strength coach and elementary school principal who were both charged with one count regarding Reporting Child Abuse or Neglect, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.

The indicted employees were immediately placed on administrative leave and are due in court December 6. Two others — the Steubenville schools’ information technology director and his daughter — were also indicted by the grand jury last month, the latter on charges unrelated to the rape case. Both pleaded not guilty.

DeWine told reporters yesterday it was unlikely there would be more charges and that it was time for Steubenville to seek closure.

“This community has suffered a great deal. I know they desperately need to be able to put this matter behind them,” he said. “All of us, no matter where we live, owe it to each other to be better neighbors, classmates, friends, citizens.

“We must treat rape and sexual assault as the serious crime of violence that is. When it’s investigated, everyone has an obligation to help find the truth — not hide the truth, not tamper with the truth, not obstruct the trust, and not destroy the truth.”

The statement is less measured that it appears, given that half the new charges are related to a separate matter: the reported rape of a 14-year-old girl in April 2012, many months before the nationally publicized case that hit the headlines.

McVey’s charges include a misdemeanor charge, alleging he made a false statement in April 2012. Gorman’s charge of failing to report possible child abuse is also from April. The Attorney General’s office confirmed that both charges were related to the alleged April rape but declined to comment on how or whether the cases of the 16-year-old and the 14-year-old were related.

Bob Fitzsimmons, the lawyer who represented “Jane Doe” in the nationally publicized case that landed Richmond and Mays in juvenile prison for at least a year, confirmed to Newsweek that he also represents the younger girl, whose family hasn’t filed charges. He declined to comment further.

The original April 2012 incident did receive some local news coverage, but not until the fall, when “those searching the Internet after the rape allegations surfaced in August also unearthed a months-old conversation among Steubenville baseball players and wrestlers about a possible April attack involving a 14-year-old student,” as the Cleveland Dealer reported in September 2012. According to the paper, the girl’s family didn’t file a police report until she read that “conversation” online.

Multiple sources in Steubenville, who would only speak off the record, said the alleged sexual assault also involved Steubenville High School athletes and took place at a team coach’s house.

Yesterday’s official news release said the new charges were “regarding the Steubenville teen rape case” — in the singular — and, despite repeated requests from this reporter, the Attorney General’s office won’t speak on the record about any possible connection between the two incidents.

Alexandria Goddard, the legal consultant widely credited with bringing the August 2012 case to light, has covered the case of the 14-year-old on her blog, Prinnifed, including screencaps of teenagers allegedly referring to the assault (Example: “It wasn’t rape they were just making love!!!”). She told Newsweek the case has probably been further obfuscated because locals were divided on whether it was “truly consensual,” even though the legal age of consensual sex in Ohio is 16 and the purported victim just 14.

Others said the girl may have been pressured to keep quiet. At the time, Steubenville area radio host David Bloomquist, known as “Bloomdaddy,” said he thought the 14-year-old was making it up. “I guess the best way to sum up what I’m saying is this: It’s easier to tell your parents you were raped than, ‘Hey mom or dad, I got drunk and decided to let three guys have their way with me.'” he said.

“It’s time to let Steubenville move on,” Attorney general DeWine said yesterday after announcing the final four indictments. The grand jury is clearly eager to do so. But it will take more than definitive proclamations of closure to change the way people — both in Steubenville and across the country — talk about sexual assault and consent.

Federal Probe Finds Harassment At West Contra Costa Schools

Image

RICHMOND (CBS/AP) – A federal investigation of the West Contra Costa School District revealed a widespread environment of sexual harassment and assaults by students that district officials failed to adequately address, the U.S. Department of Education said.

The determination came as the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights announced its agreement Wednesday with the district to ensure compliance with Title IX, a 1972 law guaranteeing equal gender treatment, and reduce future instances of harassment or sexual violence.

“I am dismayed by the prevalence of sexual harassment and assault occurring at elementary and secondary schools in West Contra Costa,” Catherine E. Lhamon, assistant secretary for civil rights, said in a written statement.” Although the district frequently reported known incidents of sexual assaults to law enforcement for prosecution, the district did not fully comply with its legal obligations under Title IX to take immediate actions to eliminate the harassment, prevent its recurrence, and address its effects, and to put proper procedures and protocols in place.”

The probe uncovered instances of sexual assaults, unwanted touching and demands for sexual favors as well as the use of sexually derogatory language that created a hostile environment within the district. It also added that students were subjected to sexual harassment by employees

As part of the agreement, the district will provide sexual harassment-prevention training and will create a task force to identify ways to reduce sexual violence. The district is comprised of 30,000 students in 37 elementary schools, six middle schools and six high schools.

The investigation began in 2010 after the brutal,2009 gang rape of a teenage girl outside of a homecoming dance at Richmond High School. Four men have been convicted and two others await trial.

The victim received $4 million to settle a lawsuit against the district in 2010.

The district said in a written statement released Thursday that while it has made significant progress, more needs to be done to make schools safer.

“Sexual harassment and gender-based harassment can be significant impairments to student learning and can leave scars that last well beyond the years our students spend in school,” the district statement said. “We’re undertaking the (agreement) with a spirit of full commitment, not only to the individual steps that are in the agreement, but also to changing the culture in our schools and communities.”
